DataExportViewer is a set of free browser tools for the files platforms give you when you download a copy of your data. The viewers open the export from TikTok’s Download your data, from Instagram’s and Facebook’s Download your information, and the X (Twitter) archive — the ZIP, the unzipped folder, or the files inside — as searchable tables with CSV download and a summary. Everything runs on your device; nothing is uploaded. Each tool page names the platform’s own help pages its statements come from and the date they were last checked.

Where the facts come from

Each tool page shows, just before its FAQ, a line that starts “Facts checked on …” and links the pages the statements were taken from: for TikTok, its help page “Requesting your data” (the current address on tiktok.com and, because that page is built by scripts, the same text as archived by the Wayback Machine); for Instagram and Facebook, Meta’s help pages “Review and export a copy of your Instagram information” and “Export a copy of your Facebook information”; for X, its help pages “How to download your X archive” and “How to access and download your X data”. Quotations on the page — how to request the file, that it “may take a few days”, that it “will be available for up to 4 days”, which data may be missing — are taken from those pages word for word. A statement that cannot be traced to such a page is not made; where the page describes what the viewer itself does, that description is checked against the code and an automated test.

How and when the facts are re-checked

The date on each page is the day its sources were actually re-read, not a publication date. Platforms change their menus, file formats and field names — TikTok has renamed sections of its export more than once, Meta has moved its download tool into Accounts Center, X has renamed its files — so a page is re-checked when it is edited or when a reader reports a difference, and the viewers are written not to depend on a fixed layout of the file. If a page shows a checked date older than a few months, treat it as a starting point and confirm the detail on the linked help page.

What the viewers do and do not do

• They open a ZIP, a folder, or JSON, TXT or X-archive .js files with JavaScript in your browser, find every list of records in them, show each list as a table you can search, export any list as a CSV or copy it as tab-separated text, and summarise counts and dates. A ZIP is unpacked in the browser with the browser’s own decompression; Unix timestamps are shown as UTC dates, and Meta’s byte-by-byte escapes of emoji and accented letters are decoded.
• They do not connect to the platform, do not sign in to your account, do not download videos, pictures or anything else the export only links to, and do not use any AI model. They show what is in the file and nothing more.
• They are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to TikTok, ByteDance, Meta, X Corp or any other platform. Using them is free, with no account, watermark or limit on file size beyond your device’s memory.

Privacy

The file is read by JavaScript in your browser and the result is shown on the page, copied to your clipboard or saved straight to your device. No server receives it, no account is needed, and the pages set no cookies and load nothing from third-party servers. Report a problem or a wrong fact

If a file does not open, a list is missing or shown wrongly, or a statement on a page does not match its source, open an issue through the contact page with the page address and a description — not your export file, which contains personal data. Confirmed problems are corrected on the page, in its structured data and in the site’s llms.txt, and the checked date is moved forward.
